MAIN PURPOSES
Oversee the Quality function of all phases of the project, encompassing engineering, construction, commissioning and handover to operations regarding Electrical field
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
-Assist Electrical Quality Manager in all related activities that include defining project requirements, developing proposals, estimating costs, obtaining approvals, engineering design, procuring materials, supervising construction and assisting commissioning. Activities to be planned and coordinated with other Refinery Groups/Teams, vendors and contractors. Further, provide engineering consultation services to the Refinery Electrical and Instrumentation requirements and issues.
-Guides and directs the Electrical and Instrument Engineers in all aspects of their engineering duties and career development plans. Actively contributes to the development of the Electrical/Instrumentation engineering skills and capabilities through formal classroom sessions, OJT drives and presentations.
-Resolves engineering problems and provides technical guidance by carrying out investigations, evaluating solutions and writing commendations. This may involve researching documentation, organizing field tests and defining interpretation of codes and standards.
-Handles, develops and supports major and critical projects/modifications, assists in budget preparation, writes applications for funding, and prepares other information necessary for management consideration of projects as well as leads other efforts throughout projects phases.
-Organizes and monitors the work of support staff, refinery personnel, contractors and vendors during all project phases including; engineering, drafting, construction, inspection. Testing and commissioning. Writes, evaluates and administers purchase requisitions and installation contracts.
-Maintains continuous contacts with outside consulting parties and firms in order to maintain Group/Section abreast of the latest technologies, tools and references. Keeps up to date with current techniques, tools applications and equipment, and advises Instrument/Electrical & Machinery Engineering & Reliability Supervisor on procurement of relative new references and tools/software.
-Assists the Instrument/Electrical & Machinery Engineering & Reliability Supervisor in technical/administration matters within the Group and in other management obligations. |
